From The Wirral, Merseyside, the four-piece combo She Drew The Gun have a new single, the lead track on their third album ‘Behave Myself’ coming in September.
‘Cut Me Down’ is another emotional piece of high energy guitar-led indie rock, following tracks such as ‘Poem’ and some incredible live performances .
With a high bpm and a great percussive intro, we get into the strumming and Louisa Roach’s strident vocals, very melodic with a great call and response chorus – we can rely on SDTG for this level of quality. There are synths in the mix as well, and the soundscape is complex but very effective – the guitar solo works especially well.
The track is inspired by the Las Tesis feminist protests in Chile, and the last section incorporates the chants of women protesting against male violence.
SDTG are capable of setting audiences alight, and this is another step is their rise.
