Another day, another lovelorn chanteusse. Signed to the eco-friendly River Rat Records (all releases use recycled card doncha-know?) Theodore strums a mean six string. The sound is filled out with drums and bass, but the production remains sparse. Theodore seems to be pitched somewhere between Lily Allen and Tom Waits (imagine their children!) – her light, jazzy swing landing firmly on the coffee table. When she cuts loose, as on the blues rant of ‘Rash’, Theodore shows that she could be an arresting and vital performer, but those moments are few and far between on an album of loose strumming and forgettable lyrics.
