Moment (download)

Scottish three-piece Primes have returned to inject some optimism and positivity into our new-found isolation with latest single.

Released at the beginning of May, ‘Moment’ encourages us to embrace life in any way possible and look towards the future instead of dwelling in the past. A message that, I’m sure, will resonate with many people during the disconcerting times that humanity sadly finds itself right now.

The lyrics are presented to us through lead singer Ollie Kitchen’s strong and compelling vocals, which match the emotion of his words.

Musically, the track is driven by dominating rock riffs and beats from Sarah Monteith-Skelton on guitar, and Reece Ryan on drums. However, the song does also feature a subtle sprinkling of pop and indie throughout, mainly due to Kitchen’s vocal style within the chorus.

Primes have achieved admirable success since forming in 2017, and ‘Moment’ only goes to show that their musical ability is rising along with it.
