Permahorn

Into The Dreams (Slut) (x)

By • Mar 6th, 2018 • Category: short players

Rather spooky and gothy, this single by male/female (of Scottish/Serbian original, we are told) duo Permahorn is from a new album ‘My Blood Carries My Dreams Away’, produced by KRAMER, who has produced some quite well-known mainly US acts such as Galaxie 500 and the infamous Butthole Surfers!

Quirky, interesting and certainly not the hip sound of 2018, the sound casts back into the dim and distant of The Cure, Bauhaus and the Mode at their darkest.

There is a bit of Cocteau Twins and Banshees feel to the initial ascending guitar arpeggios, then a far harsher guitar riff comes in before a doomy-sounding duet of voices intone some vocals quite low in the mix. There’s quite a bit of guitar soloing as the fairly minimal percussion chugs along and we get more “follow me through the darkness…” choruses before it fades off into the gloom…
