Paul Roderick’s colourful CV is something worth checking out. His career notes working alongside The Fall, The Stranglers and the much loved Ian Brown. However, he has now downed tools for others and got in on the act himself with his debut single. This track is very catchy and surprisingly from one song you can pick many influences most highlighted in ska and early 80s synth while bringing a modern touch with an electric vibe and even a hint of rock. One flaw with the track is the continuous use of the same vocal. While very catchy it can get monotonous quickly, but it’s not enough to suggest the debut album Fusion Paradox won’t be worth a serious look.
