Pan Am Down is one Joshua Kraemer, a sometime employee of New York City Transport. He’s obviously learned a lot from this experience and seen a lot of what it takes to move people, and heard some pretty good stories.
Sad to say – and several listens after this album arrived my way, it doesn’t seem to make for a terribly inspiring album. Yes, it’s nice and it’s relaxing, but several listens along, unfortunately I’m struggling to find out what it is that makes him different from so many singer-songwriters out there.
The problem is that the best thing I can say about this album is that it’s very nice and very pleasant…and there’s a part of me that feels that, ultimately, that’s really very faint praise indeed.
