Imagine if Scouting For Girls got ideas above their station and decided to try and do something a bit more ‘arty’, incorporating a touch of Queen like quasi-prog rock complexity in their arrangements and the big, orchestral sound of the Arcade Fire in their instrumentation.
Well, this nightmare is now a reality thanks to Aldershot indie band ‘Our Lost Infantry’. One catchy hook is lost in the ten minute long CD, and the cheap sounding strings plus ‘Scouting…’sound-a-like vocals render their attempts to sound big and epic a tad hopeless. It’s all well played but ultimately a waste of time.
