This is, I believe, what the cool kids are calling a ‘pop banger’. Massively on trend by harking back to the 1980s, it’s the work of two artists from somewhere between the modern and, er, ancient era of The Human League et al; Minnesotan Mark Lange (Tiger, Tiger) and Fifer Kevin Lynch (Cruiser), who collaborated on this debut single long distance and locked down.
There are definite traces of both electro acts in the track – bassy synths throb, while claptrap percussion propels along an almost unbearably catchy, foot-tapping verse. A bit of a virtual indie dancefloor filler, it’s the first of a succession of singles which should fill the dark winter nights nicely.
