A swift follow up to last month’s ‘Sliding Off the Edge of the World’ single, NuBorg returns with ‘You You’ – the latest in her album project which sees the Nowegian songwriter releasing one single a month until the full album is available in August.
While previous singles have been something of an alternative proposition – light sounding and atmospheric – ‘You You’ is a far more straightforward pop song, marking an effective departure for NuBorg. Driven by a lovely, spaced collection of clean electric guitar chords, the song is a touching tribute to those who don’t see their own strengths.
It all comes in at a mellow, pared-back pace which lets the song grow nicely, each chorus more lush than the last.
