BM has not really dipped into live/streamed gigs since the original lockdown, but this one, part of Independent Artists Week at The Glad Cafe, looked like a good prospect, and was highly enjoyable.
Glasgow-based singer/songwriter Molly Linen recorded this at the Glad with Caio Wheelhouse (guitar and flute) and Liam Chapman (drums).
She performed 4 or 5 of her delicate but plangent songs, including previous releases ‘Outside’ and ‘Days Ago’, plus a couple of newer ones. Her haunting voice blended well with the other sounds and her intricate guitar-picking.
One can only hope that these “as live” events, with the accompanying opportunity to listen and comment on Youtube can give artists such as ML some encouragement and a few donations to help them along.
It is a crying shame that there are no live gigs at the moment but for the time being this is the next best thing.
