Minna Ora welcomes a new era for her sound with ‘Wind’, a release that taps into earlier creations while paving a new route forward, one of which she is likely to keep exploring as we head into 2023.
Ora, who hails from Finland, does not limit herself to a single musical style. Instead, she frequently incorporates various components and influences into her work, as the song ‘Wind’ demonstrates. In addition, there is a basis of folk metal, but as it advances, there are also hints of pop and indie music joining the mix.
The storyline, which provokes contemplation, is one of the most notable aspects of the music, and Minna has no trouble getting her point across to the listener clearly and concisely. She utilises the weather as an analogy to illustrate thoughts and life events. Furthermore, ‘Wind’ is about the unexpected harshness that might occasionally arise, only to fade away and leave tranquilly behind it.
The music is equally striking, with this tune having the potential to be Minna’s most impressive-sounding composition to surface in the past few years. Furthermore, there is an edgy vibe that is present, and the guitar plays a significant role in the encounter, with it truly getting time to shine in the closing section. Moreover, in the finale, the guitar tones rip through the speakers with a quality that competes with some of the best solos coming out of the scene right about now.
Overall, a terrific release this one from Minna Ora and one which leaves us eager to hear what she will come up with next.
