Edinburgh’s Locked Hands’s release their fifth single, ‘Tarmac’, and it is another belter!
Starting with some very odd beats (semi-triphop or something) and accompanied by some gated or layered guitar flourishes, it evolves into a jittery concoction of funk, recalling some early 80s bands such as Joseph K or early Orange Juice.
Lyrics about “rewriting history” are quite cryptic but the tune is very catchy – is there a chorus? Not really, but it doesn’t matter, as the whole thing is very interesting indeed – intriguing and very addictive.
