Good to have new music from BM / itm? fave Jill, who continues to blaze a singular trail on the Scottish indie scene with her Americana-influenced electric folk.
Her distinctive voice and guitar lines are supplemented here by Andy Monaghan and Peter Kelly, who help fill out the track to a full band sound.
There’s some great playing on this mid-paced reflection on life, inspired by the view from the flagpole at Glasgow’s Queens Park. Some introspective lyrics help to make this a memorable track (“hair like a catchweed…”) and hopefully a precursor to further releases from this always-original artist.
