Jewel Scheme is a newish project driven by De Rosa’s Martin John Henry concept, but with other ex-De Rosa and Knockout Ned personnel in the shape of Chris Connick and Allan Carroll involved.
This precursor to an album is a rather interesting melange of indie-rock, electronica and dub, which appears to combine Beta Band tropes with ‘Giant Steps’-era Boo Radleys to great effect.
There’s definitely something unique brewing here. The vocals sound a bit paranoiac and reference flying objects – have they been hanging around Bonnybridge again? There’s also a brutal techno remix by ‘Matthew Mahogany’ as a b-side… rave on!
There are live dates coming up, including The Glad Cafe in Glasgow on September 15th, coming up soon, which should be interesting.
