Indian Summer, the 2-day festival which takes place in “Glasgow’s Prettiest Park” – Victoria Park, that is – takes place on August 13th and 14th. Headliners are Wilco (Saturday) and Flaming Lips (Sunday), with a large supporting cast. Saturday’s lineup includes The Rapture, Explosions In The Sky, Midlake and Emma Pollock, while on Sunday it’s Spiritualized Acoustic Mainlines, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, I’m From Barcelona, Annuals and Make Model.
There are sideshow events ranging from massages to croquet, a host of interesting, ethical and simply tasty foodstuffs on sale, and of course, 3 more music stages of note – the Beanscene coffeeshop chain’s stage has Endrick Brothers, Hazey Janes, Quinn and Yellow Bentines, while legendary club Optimo puts on the likes of Foxface & The Presets (Saturday) and Mouse on Mars, Michael Gira & The Parsonage the following day.
6music’s Hub stage includes Daniel Johnston, Andrew Bird, Polytechnic, Au Revoir Simone & Sergeant on Saturday, while Sunday sees Wheat, Elvis Perkins, and itm? favourites Frightened Rabbit and Figure 5.
AND, for those of you not able to be at the festival, 6music will be broadcasting several shows from the site.
