Co-written and produced by ex-Danny Wilson main man Gary Clark, this is another pop nugget from Central Scotland. Armed with Clark’s classic pop song sensibilities, these guys have been mainlining The Beastie Boys and The Jackson Five.
Lyrics here are very sparse and repetitive and soon drum their way into your brain. There is also a fantastic meaty bass rhythm rumbling right the way through.
What stops it being too heavy is the assuredness and elasticity of the playing. Round about the two minute mark, ‘Bullet’ waves goodbye to its hip hop influence and becomes quite r’n’b.
It’s got that elusive quality of all the best dance tracks – it makes you want to actually dance.
