It must be that the continental sun is more of an inspiration than their native Glasgow to this multi-member act.
Having previously trekked to Zadar in Croatia to sample the city’s infamous ‘sea organ’, Spain was the destination for the three EPs gathered together here. Hence the title, which is the most laboured thing about a smart, fast-moving collection of indie pop, where “multi-member” means a full, multi-layered full sound, employing brass and strings.
Best are ‘Dill Pickle’, which rolls along as if it has somewhere important to be, while ‘Straight White Men’ comes across with a hint of Devo’s skewed electropop.
There are 15 tracks in total to delight in, with another highlight Gregor Barclay’s whooped vocal on ‘Hustlin’, possibly an apt ode to procrastination given that the band had a four-year hiatus, but with (up to) three albums on their way this year, this is a mere taster for more to come.
