“I know that you and your readers are going to love this new single.”
A bold statement, admittedly not from Glasgow five-piece Flair, but from their PR people, who, to be fair, shouldn’t be in the business if they don’t have supreme optimism in their (cough) product.
Anyway, what they offer us is a nice crisp drum intro, Edge-y guitar, blusey vocals somewhere between Frankie Miller and Eddie Vedder, and a powerful titular chorus on the EP’s lead track ‘Runaway’.
But what do we (and possibly yourselves, dear reader) make of this, the follow-up to December’s single ‘Swan’? And what is love anyway, as Howard Jones and Prince Charles both mused? Well, while I can’t devote myself to this unconditionally, there’s certainly plenty to like about it. Perhaps we can still be friends?
