Based in the West of Scotland (Coatbridge to be exact) and Feet of Clay’s current single, follows up previous release ‘Son’, which made the Scottish Top 30 (remember that?)
This latest one is a breezy upbeat slice of indie-rock with some dousing of country. It has a great bass and drums intro, a melodic verse line and enough riffage to keep guitar enthusiasts happy (is that slidey riff a wee homage to Eddie Brickell or Bruce Hornsby, BM can’t decide?).
This is the kind of tune which gets people going, with a singalong chorus and a very confident swagger. It is already doing very well indeed on the iTunes Charts and bodes very well for this combo’s future success, just a crying shame that they can’t blast it out in live venues at the moment (although there have been online streams and they are booked for some outdoor live events like Doune, time will tell if that goes ahead…)
Great songwriting and a real way with a build-up, definitely ones to watch this year…
