Wither Away (First Run)

By • May 18th, 2020 • Category: Single review

Fauves have been stirring it up for a wee while now (see previous review of ‘Bathe’), and this is a further development of their sound.

It is funky, complex and yes it has got a wee bit in common with Metronomy, but also Talking Heads and other artists dating back to the ’70s.

All in all it is a great track, with falsetto vocals, great back section and some pretty darn great guitar licks.

This is a band who have a fairly unique vision of what they want to do, and all personnel complement each other – BM is desperate to witness them live again (after their set at Great Western Festival last year) but guess this won’t be for some time at the moment!
