Literally, they claim, 2 divorced women and a drum machine. Well, Roland, we’ll call him, may be present and correct, but what we actually have is a rather angry pair of tunes made by some decidedly male (or seriously premenstrual) characters on ‘Stave’ – hard and fast. They’re also sounding very Glaswegian – not the accents so much, it’s too growly to tell – but that angular, choppy guitar style, the pummeling drums on the slower ‘Diktat’ – see also Galchen, Eska, or a Scottish west coast take on Sh*llac. With that as a summary, I’m not going to cross them.
