Elizabeth Electra has been busy recently – as well as her work, and forthcoming live appearances, as part of the ‘Unthanks from Hell’ (BM’s words!) combo Silver Moth, she has been doing further solo recordings.
This is the second track from a forthcoming EP of the same name which releases next month. With Chvrches’ Jonny Scott on percussion and a guesting Stuart Braithwaite on guitars, this is a swirling slice of gothic doom.
A frantic beat overlaid by a frankly massive vocal which if anything references Siobhan Fahey’s tone on ‘Stay’ by Shakespeare’s Sister with a dash of that Banshee’s vocalist – the whole thing musically sounds like a triumph of strength through adversity, a sentiment which is reflected in the lyrical content. Phew!
