‘Look At Me Now,’ a new track by Eliot, has the indie-rock juices flowing.
When he thinks back on his time on this Earth, the singer is full of sorrow, often wondering what could have been if he had the knowledge he has now.
The song begins with a gritty guitar riff that lifts us and doesn’t let us go until the music comes to its concluding section. The riff is snappy, and it bursts through the speakers accompanying Eliot’s powerful performance. His vocals have a roughness and an electric spark to them, allowing him to stand out among the many other artists in the genre.
Everything jolts ahead musically in the refrain, and the cadence is tough to miss, with the drums gaining new vigour and the bass taking centre stage. The action is fascinating, and Eliot, with his thought-provoking wordplay, takes the lead. He is transparent in his message, and there is no ambiguity, which adds to the listener’s understanding.
One thing which could have added even more weight to the new single by Eliot is a more sturdy guitar solo earlier on the mix. Furthermore, although there is a little bit of guitar class in the closing section, the track is shouting out for a killer guitar solo to come and kick us even further off the chair. Nevertheless, as a whole, the track is hard to fault, and it has all the ingredients to rise through the ranks.
