From the packaging (a very bright yellow sleeve adorned with what look like a couple of spare pieces from a mecano set and the blunt statement of numbers ‘1759’; no clue as to what either might mean, mind), one can tell one is going to have fun with this disc.
That’s always been one of the key strengths of the Alex Tronic label. They remember people listen to music primarily for enjoyment.
From the moment one hits the play button, rays of warmth and energy burst out of the stereo. This artist’s name is Dirt Diamond and he is a rough nugget in the truest sense of the term. All the tracks here gel beautifully, while each also has a true point and personality of its own.
Dirt Diamond also has the hunger of wanting to do something new and exciting and if you take off all your preconceptions, you’ll be ecstatically swept along in his wake.
