The sounds here are very sparky and bright and jazzy and they take, despite being delivered in short, sharp, stabs, a fair while to reveal all their true colours and strengths. That really keeps you listening.
This is a crisp and instrumental album that really colours your mood as you listen to it. If you’re feeling a tad down or melancholy (and let’s face it, who isn’t), it’ll give you a wee boost.
It is quite sly in places, in the way that it just seems to tickle your senses and tune into your mood. And then, before you know it, it has affected the way you feel, without you even realising it.
It’s always great when music can do that, isn’t it? This is a great summer album, for when it looks like we are only going to have to pretend that we have company.
