Turn It On (bandcamp)

By • Mar 24th, 2021 • Category: Single review

From Birkenhead via France, this Glasgow-based producer apparently runs a vintage recording studio in the city.

And there is something very much of a bygone era about this latest single despite the ‘Digital’ part of his moniker.

Indeed, it’s a “sumo”-sized sound he generates with his presumably analogue equipment – like if Marc Bolan had started off in the ’80s, its basic-but-catchy riff driven by heavily-distorted vocals and guitar and a pounding beat.

Glam-electro-punk, perhaps, but maybe “digitalsumo” works just as well.
