Songs From The Second Floor (DH)

Clearly not a band seeking the limelight, this Glasgow three-piece, rather than a biography, simply offer an opinion on Boris Johnson that is unprintable in a family newspaper.

So while the music contained is hardly likely to trouble the Top 40, their brand of punk rock has some decidedly poppish overtones to it.

Opener ‘Pigs‘ offers a solid singalong chorus, while ‘Shut Your Mouth‘s guitar line will snake its way into your subconscious.

Newly available as a download, there’s 10 tracks on here, each one characterised by tight percussion, strident rhythms and the dirtiest guitar sound this side of the Mary Chain.

In all, a fairly action-packed half-hour from a trio who clearly happy to let their music do the talking.
