You feel like you’re in the pub with Ricky Ross and co. You’re all discussing the (chaotic) state of the world. You’re all wondering what the hell is going to happen next.
Then Ricky starts up at the piano. ‘City Of Love’ comes first and it’s a welcome distraction from the latest politicians’ bullshit about how “measures are in place” (so why are they not being used properly then?). It’s a warm and friendly song that puts its arm around your shoulder.
Then comes ‘Dignity’, which has never sounded more relevant than it does here. Ricky’s saying: this is the type of person who’s really going to suffer because of COVID.
The set is rounded out with a nice gentle ‘Weight Of The World’ and a superb cover of ‘What’s So Funny ‘Bout Peace, Love & Understanding?’ All in all, a friendly set that makes your world a wee bit nicer for 15 minutes.
