Danny Smart may be Yorkshire born and bred, but he has Nashville running through his veins. And ‘She’s Mine’ is testament to his undeniable songwriting talent.
I first received this new single only a few days ago. Since I hit ‘Play’, I have been coming back time and time again. Charismatic and refreshing is the best way I can sum his performance up. He takes the best from the genre and has put together something remarkably unique to himself.
‘She’s Mine’ kicks off with Danny’s signature guitar sound. Boasting killer licks, he does not disappoint. We are then soon into the heart of it, with Danny delivering a strong vocal performance. Vocally, he is at his best for sure. I have listened to his previous releases, and he is flying high here. For me, it is his best to date.
Not only catchy but extremely likeable; for anyone who enjoys the best in country-rock, we have found a song for you perfect for the lockdown days. My only pet hate about the track is its duration. I would love to hear a little more, and it sits relatively short at around 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Nevertheless, short is often sweet. Also, it just makes you reach for the repeat button.
Overall, it is a quality country song from the Barnsley-based musician. Also, I like how he has brought northern courage to the party too. As a result, it is quite a hybrid. The highlight is the vocals, but all guitar fans far and wide will appreciate this hit also. It even made me want to reach for own my guitar at one point.
Take a listen for yourself and find out what everyone is talking about at the moment.
