Absolutely late to this party, but I guess there’s a reason this album has remained on my to-do-list for a considerable length of time and hasn’t been shifted by more recent releases. Presented with impressively colourful, cyberpunky, artwork – the first few bars that I managed to hear on the fly convinced me to get back to it when my life wasn’t a flaming dumpster fire. Well… good news! The dumpster fire is still ablaze, but I’ve got some time to go on about this ten-track gem.
Coming out of the gates with powerful, synthy riffs before exploding into a chunky nu-metalcore track, ‘Nothing Left’ is a good start to proceedings. Listening to the track, you get the vibe of Don Broco when they were at their peak. Third track ‘You Know’ has some guest female vocals – I’ve no idea who from – which sits well with the track. I think there might be another cameo later on from someone giving us the growls and screams, but can’t be sure. Again, it does sound good, though!
Overall, the theme is pretty consistent throughout this whole album. Every track here is a massive rock number that could be a single. Dynamic as you like and some very impressive vocals from Arran Prime. You could put the track list on a dart board and blindly hit a tune that would be quite at home alongside Don Broco, Hot Milk, Linkin Park, or Enter Shikari. Now I’m very interested in their next live dates up in this neck of the woods, and I reckon you should get into it too.
