This is a gorgeous track from Stirling’s Constant Follower, combining plucky guitar with wide sweeps of synth. Fronted by Stephen McAll and involving several other musicians, the song evokes barren landscapes and bleak imagery, but most of all is just a great tune, with evocative lyrics.
The male/female duetting vocals are simply beautiful and offer some shards of hope in a somewhat barren world – and the last 10 seconds, sounding like multi-tracked cello, see this fine track end with a grand flourish.
