Back to the future go this Glasgow-based band, whose cartoon pop is influenced by the likes of Half Man Half Biscuit and who number at least one member of anarchic comics The Plimptons among their ranks.
The retro-style artwork on the sleeve – a CD disguised as a 7″ single – can’t adequately describe what lies within. Eleven tracks which run to a meagre 17 minutes, the release is in fact a perfect length – fast-paced, tuneful punk rock which never clocks in above a couple of minutes. The titles perhaps lend a clue to what awaits the unsuspecting listener – ‘Patrick Stewart’s Unexpected Tie Fighter Journey’ is the pick both musically and lyrically, while ‘Homebase Alpha’ sums this marvellous mini-album up best – DIY sci-fi that won’t fail to put a space-age smile on your face.
