Man of the Minch (feat. Broken Chanter)

Gone

Taken from previously-reviewed album The Tide is at The Turning, this single track is well worth a revisit in its own right, as it sounds better than ever.

The track starts with a great keyboard riff, and then into a chuntering guitar/keyboard verse… Pedro (aka Man of the Minch)’s lyrics are not very optimistic and reference drinking and non-birthdays, before breaking into a glorious chorus and guitar riffs…

David MacGregor aka Broken Chanter takes the second verse, and then we are back into a chorus, followed by a brief breakdown and acapella section before our heroes team up to round off with a rousing finale.

It is a classic slice of Caledonian indie/folk, with both artists giving it everything, expressing the yearning and heartbreak which accompanies many aspects of life…

It is a great team-up, and very catchy indeed, could be a hit given a bit more airplay…
