This week we’re recommending Hey You Get Off My Pavement! – the all-day festival which takes place at Glasgow’s Mono bar/cafe/record shop. Running on August 5th from 12.30pm – 10.30 pm, last year saw landmark performances from Emma Pollock, The Royal We and a late-in-the-day acoustic show from Arab Strap as well as a show-stopping appearance from Herman Dune. The rain even (mostly) stayed off (see links) and a wide range of vegan fare including way too much wheat beer was consumed more… “Hey You! Do this!”

Dunstaffnage Music Festival

Dunstaffnage Castle, nr.Oban

Dunstaffnage might seem like another festival which has sprung up in what appears to be a campaign to ensure that the Scottish gigging calendar has at least one festival per week during the summer months. However, Oban’s contribution – on July 27th – 29th, only a mile or so from Oban and picturesquely set across from the islands of Lismore & Mull – has actually been on the go since 1992, predating just about everything on the Scottish summer live circuit. more… “Dunstaffnage Music Festival”
