Another artist whose plans have been upended by COVID times is Dundee’s Be Charlotte; however she did this rather wonderful Youtube live session to mark the occasion of the release of her single ‘Lights Off’.
There were new songs (‘Burning’ sounded pretty good) and old ones (‘Machines That Breathe’, still one of BM’s faves) along with several covers (Dua Lipa and a version of ‘Sunny Afternoon’ which required a restart!)…
And given that many of these songs are usually performed with some heavy electronic backing and drums etc it is a testament to their qualitythat they sound darn good just played on the acoustic guitar, but then we always knew that…
Last year’s ‘Do Not Disturb’ sounded great, as did ‘Brighter Without You’ and ‘One Drop’, another older song…
And lastly the current single ‘Lights Off’, which sounds really excellent.
This was a great wee YouTube session and credit to BC for doing this, they can be quite traumatic for some artists…
Hopefully Be Charlotte will be treading the boards as soon as this hell is over, BM for one will be first in the queue…
