Again proving that Lost Map have such excellent taste, this London-based quartet return to the fray after several years away. The expanded lineup is fronted by Serafina Steer, who has most recently been working with Jarvis Cocker’s JARV_IS project, although this was co-written by the band.
The track itself is a curious and interesting melange of styles, mixing post-punkish vocals with a swirling bassline and some extremely odd keyboard effects, along with some thundering drums… It probably reminds BM most of The Raincoats or the Au Pairs but these comparisons are a bit easy, it really does have some kind of unique DNA. It is also really rather catchy and has some incredible vocal harmonies…
As BM said, Lost Map have excellent taste and this is an immersive, beautiful and compelling track.
