The Resonance

Mister Policeman

It says a lot about this funk track to learn that, at a recent gig when it was being played to the audience for the first time, it’s so accessible that other musicians were able to come on stage and turn the whole thing into an epic jam session.

But such is the charm of ‘Mister Policeman’, the latest single from Resonance, that you can well imagine that happening. From the very start this is a song with a funky verve to it, grooves that sit in the pocket and stay there, allowing all the melodies to swim over the top.

There’s something dirty about that guitar line too – a strummed riff that could either be lead or rhythm guitar – that sits in the minor key while keeping the tempo upbeat. It makes for a solid song of contrasts and it’s well worth a listen.
