Ex- Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows’ new release ‘Company’ is a laid back mix of indie pop and feel-good bittersweet harmonies that sometimes veers towards singer/songwriter territory, but never sounds dull.
As a vocalist, Burrows is warm and friendly; like a big hug. The supremely beautiful and heart-rending ‘If I Had A Heart’ is without a doubt the album stand-out track but a special shout out has to be given to ‘Somebody Calls Your Name’, another beautiful track on which Burrows plays at being the perfect pop prince.
This being Burrows’ second solo album, plays to his strengths as a great vocalist, songwriter and musician. Burrows is comfortable in his own skin and with his sound and it shows through. It‘s not ground-breaking stuff, but then again, why should it be? It’s perfect just the way it is.
