Amanda Marie Wilkinson is currently releasing hits left, right, and centre, and her latest one is no exception. Furthermore, ‘Taking My Time’ is the red-hot jewel that keeps Amanda at the forefront of modern pop fans’ minds, and it takes a different path when compared to her previous work.
Furthermore, Amanda opts for a deeper pop progression on this track. It’s a departure from her last hit, ‘Spiritual Level,’ which went further into the EDM realm. But, now that summer is here, and there is a different atmosphere in the air given that lockdown is lessening, did she miss a tricky by not maintaining her animated image? Potentially, but considering the streams and opulence already, this one appears to be just as popular as the last.
Amanda’s vocal performance is pure, without any voice effects that have been on display previously. Moreover, as the song proceeds, she sings with a more natural timbre, and her tones give more of an indication of the skill that she has been storing up her sleeve over the last few years. Similarly, the music isn’t as crazy as we’ve come to expect from Amanda, but it still leaks vehemence.
The piano does most of the work in the instrumental, and the powerful and gripping quality keeps the ears peeled. Also, while the beat rhythm takes a while to arrive, it adds a new depth to the mix once it does, and it spellbinds!
