This is friendly music with a subtle kind of acid edge that embraces your heart and ears at first before sinking slowly into them. These are very well-played songs, where each of the musicians knows exactly what they have to do, in order to get both their point and the point of the band as a whole across.
These are simple songs, played straight from the heart. Which is exactly where they are intended to hit you. Never maudlin or sentimental (again, a sure nod to Johnny Cash), they have simple truths about life and how it is at their core, which is why you will like them. and if you don’t then you obviously have a heart of stone.
The material is not original but it is certainly good and will surely keep you listening and warm up the room for you, if you were to find yourself alone on Valentines Day. Because Albino are clearly still finding their own voice as a band, the disc can sound a bit samey at times; however, for the most part, it fairly trundles along.
