Sometimes art and pop collide, not with a crash, but a comforting, enveloping thrum.
Adam Stafford – former tunesmith with Y’all Is Fantasy Island – has turned his attention to the visual world – creating pop videos for the likes of The Twilight Sad as well as his award-wining collaboration with writer Alan Bissett in The Shutdown.
This 40-minute piece continues that theme – a mesmerising collection of what could be factories (producing who knows what?), of nature (well, giant mechanical birds), of the plainsong chant of robot monks.
The album is packaged beautifully with a collection of photos adding further flesh to the imagery providing a real treat for the senses.
