Adam Stafford started lockdown by releasing an album of “old” songs but this is the first track from a forthcoming new album, ‘Trophic Asynchrony, due out on July 10.
Straight outta Falkirk, Adam is a singular artist and this may or may not be a response to Covid times (the accompanying slightly disturbing but also very funny video has him in a ripped facemask).
The music is heavily processed loops and electronic percussion, a bit like ambient horror, with shades of the more eldritch ends of Aphex Twin and maybe that unreleased Eno album ‘Music For Vaccination Rooms’, or something…
Despite having no real words (vocodered but not clear) and no real chorus, it is also very catchy, and BM looks forward to the promised new album by one of her favourite artists, doing it his way…
