There’s a kernel of a good song nestled somewhere in ‘Come The Summer Days’, but wherever it lurks Actress Hands aren’t quite able to tease it out into the sunlight. Part of the problem is Matt Eaton’s voice, which can’t quite lift the tune above a mumbled drawl, although that hasn’t done Pete Doherty too much harm. Maybe it has more to do with the way that the rest of the band seem to be fighting each other for the limelight, their various contributions grating against each other more often than they gel. Actress Hands definitely have something going for them, but this isn’t it. Shame.
