Where some may have thought that a bit of build-up would be required, these guys just dig in and get on with it. It actually makes for quite a welcome change, as though they are saying, this is OUR agenda and this is how WE are going to play things. They know their strengths, they know their riffs and they play the hell out of them. If your energy levels weren’t high and your heart wasn’t pumping, it damned well will be by now. These guys, though, might want to take a little bit of advice to heart. Yes it’s great to have one gelling overall sound on an album, but a few too many songs sound the same. A bit more pruning next time, boys, and then you will produce the classic which is so clearly next to your violently beating musical hearts. This disc ends up being just a little too one-note for its own good – less anger and a little more consideration next time around, please.
