Bricks
(Full Time Hobby)
There’s something very comforting about hearing the massed voices of Tunng. ‘Bricks’ is the first single from the forthcoming ‘Good Arrows’ album and it débuts the first proper ‘full band’ Tunng release (previous records having been mainly put together by the core duo of Mike and Sam). Absorbing more electronica than on the previous releases, despite now being a sextet, Tunng are one of those hidden treasure bands, loved by those in the know and ignored by the general public. ‘Bricks’ isn’t the single to propel them up the charts (’Bullets’ would have been a better bet) but it’s a great single and a fine advertisement for the album to follow.
