You can tell right away that these guys come from a folk and singer-songwriter background. The music is led by the lyrics and the lyrics tell stories of everyday life that will be all too familiar to anyone listening.
The music (and therefore, presumably, the people behind the making of it) has a clean, clear and sharp mind of its very own. It takes you into its own little world and cocoons you before showing you its own troubled heart.
Rough edges abound (and very welcomingly so) but the main sound of choice here seems to be that of country. The songs here have all been toughened with guitar twangs and the strong, dark voices of experience.
There are also some nice touches of humour on display here. This is the sort of wry humour that only lyrics drawn from life experience can elicit. These guys know you, as they live the same sort of life that you do.
This means that (if there is any justice to be had in this fine world of ours) this music should find a ready audience both here in the UK and also worldwide. It’s friendly music and we all need friends in this day and age.
