The Paraffins

Something Good (Ear Spook)

By Euan Wallace • Feb 23rd, 2010 • Category: short players

Relying on keyboards with the equivalent sound quality of an original Nintendo system, equipment elitists are going to be disappointed by ‘Something Good’ but that’s no bad thing.

The synth sounds are hardly cutting-edge but they fit perfectly in this celebration of defiant optimism. The Petrochemical Arms provide backing vocals at choruses, a subconscious invitation for you to join in and the lure of the hook might just prove too much to resist.

The single also features a jingle, ostensibly about cereal (naïve assumption?) and a remix by Berlin duo Ben Butler & Mousepad.
