Two years of non-stop touring and a whirlwind rise to the mainstream has brought with it the release of album American Slang, a cleaner, more polished and produced affair.
The New Jersey lads haven’t ditched their punk-rock roots, however this single may divide the bands more hardcore fans who may see it as a bit of a light touch.
‘The Diamond Church Street Choir’ is catchy, finger snapping upbeat Southern US rock with a whoo-hooo sing-along chorus. Having been endorsed by Bruce Springsteen the band has clearly given a nod to ‘The Boss’ and The E Street Band with the upbeat, sound of summer track ‘Boxer’. Overall these tracks are slicker offerings than previous album tracks on The 59 Sound but Brian Fallon’s vocal remains raw and passionate throughout.
