Frankly, you know you are in trouble when the press release states that they bring to mind “the cutting edge of Kings Of Leon.” What, does that make Lady Gaga an avant-garde performance artist? And guys, you come from Glasgow, it is 2010. Unless singing in American accents is some sort of misplaced reaction against broad Scottish accents that we hear now in Scottish music. There is wearing your influences on your sleeve -and then there’s hiding behind masks. Of course Bruce Springsteen’s guitarist Steve Van Zandt thinks they’re awesome -imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. A cliche that’s as obvious as this single.
