Looking at their website before listening to this album I have to admit I was looking forward to hearing a band that say they’re a Scottish rock band playing with Japanese instruments.
Unfortunately, expectations aren’t met.
It’s a short blast of an album, clocking in at just over 25 minutes and normally an album of that length would be filled with energy and ingrain itself on your memory, but that just didn’t happen with Satyroi. It’s not that this is a bad album musically, it just lacks feeling and fails to engage.
For these reasons this is a difficult album to recommend – let’s hope there’s better to come.
